Campinas City Council Definitively Approves Ban on E-CigarettesThe Campinas City Council has given final approval to a project prohibiting the use of electronic cigarettes within the municipality. This decision marks a definitive step in local public health and regulatory policy.
In addition to the e-cigarette ban, the council also approved changes to the rules governing street vending in the city. These new regulations aim to update the framework for commercial activities in public spaces.
Both approved projects will now be sent to the office of Mayor Dario Saadi (Republicanos). The mayor will have the final say, with the options to sanction the measures into law or veto them.
The council's decision reflects a move towards stricter control over tobacco-related products and a modernization of commercial street regulations in Campinas.
