Campo Grande Launches 'Inverno Acolhedor' Shelter Program SaturdayThe city of Campo Grande is set to launch its 'Inverno Acolhedor' (Welcoming Winter) initiative this Saturday, providing temporary shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness. The program, organized by the city government (Prefeitura de Campo Grande), will be based at Parque Ayrton Senna.
The initiative is a direct response to the forecasted drop in temperatures, which are expected to reach approximately 9°C (48°F) by Sunday. The shelter service will commence at 6:00 PM local time on Saturday and will include overnight accommodations for both Saturday and Sunday nights.
According to the official announcement, the program's continuation into Monday will depend on the prevailing weather conditions and forecasts. This temporary measure aims to offer a safe and warm refuge for vulnerable populations during the cold spell.
