CSKA's medical chief Eduard Bezuglov reveals Igor Akinfeev, Moises Barbosa, and Enrike Karmo will miss the Russian Cup final against Spartak due to injuries.

CSKA Moscow will be without three important players for their highly anticipated Russian Cup final showdown against city rivals Spartak. The club's head of medical department, Eduard Bezuglov, has provided an official update on the squad's fitness ahead of the crucial match at Lukoil Arena.

The most notable absence is legendary goalkeeper and captain Igor Akinfeev. According to Bezuglov, the medical staff has insisted that Akinfeev undergo treatment in a conservative recovery mode. While the veteran shot-stopper expressed a strong desire to attend the match, support his teammates in the dressing room, and be part of the squad, the doctors have not yet granted him permission to do so. Akinfeev will therefore watch the final from home, cheering on his team remotely.

Defender Moises Barbosa is also unavailable for selection. The medical report indicates that Barbosa is recovering with good progress, but he is not yet fit to take the field. However, his presence on the substitutes' bench will provide valuable moral and mental support to the squad through his words and encouragement.

The third player ruled out is Enrike Karmo, who is dealing with an ankle joint contusion. The prognosis for Karmo appears more optimistic, as Bezuglov suggested he is expected to be ready to train with the main group by the next match and should be available to help the team soon after.

The final of the Regions Path of the Fonbet Russian Cup is scheduled to take place at the Lukoil Arena in Moscow. The match is set to kick off at 20:00 Moscow time, promising a tense derby atmosphere as CSKA and Spartak battle for the prestigious trophy.

These absences present a significant challenge for the CSKA coaching staff, who will need to adjust their tactical plans without their captain, a key defender, and another squad member. The team's depth and resilience will be tested in one of the season's most important fixtures.
