Gusttavo Lima's concert in Paraná was cut short after a severe storm damaged sound gear and created electrical hazards on stage, forcing an abrupt end.

A powerful storm forced the abrupt cancellation of a Gusttavo Lima concert at the Festival Popular (Fespop) in Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, Paraná, on Thursday evening. The severe weather struck during the performance, creating dangerous conditions that made continuing the show impossible.

Video footage from the event captured the chaotic scene as concertgoers scrambled for shelter. The large video screens went dark and the music stopped as the intense rainfall hit the festival grounds. Several areas of the venue experienced significant flooding due to the downpour.

The storm caused substantial damage to the technical equipment essential for the performance. According to the singer's own account on social media, the rain soaked the sound mixing consoles and burned out his microphone. The water damage to the electronic gear rendered the audio systems inoperable.

Beyond the equipment failure, the storm created serious safety hazards on the stage. Gusttavo Lima reported that significant electrical current was running through the stage structure, posing a direct risk to performers and crew. Parts of the stage framework were also observed swaying dangerously during the high winds.

The singer took to social media to apologize directly to his fans and explain the circumstances. "It became impossible to finish the show. My microphone burned out, all the sound consoles got wet," he stated. "From the bottom of my heart, I'm coming here to apologize because we don't control the weather."

The interrupted performance was part of the Fespop 2026 program, a major cultural event running from May 7th to 10th. The festival features national music acts, an amusement park, food vendors, and various exhibitions in the western Paraná municipality.

As of the latest reports, the festival organizers had not issued an official statement regarding the show's interruption or the flooding that affected parts of the venue. Based on reporting from g1.
