Paraguayan Women Rescued from Forced Labor in Brazil: PF OperationThe Brazilian Federal Police (PF) rescued two Paraguayan women from a brothel in Santa Helena, in western Paraná state, on the night of Wednesday, the 6th. According to the PF, the women stated they were being held at the location against their will and were prevented from returning to Paraguay.

One of the victims was accompanied by her 13-year-old daughter, a minor. The investigation began after Paraguayan authorities passed on information indicating that women from the neighboring country were being held in conditions of unlawful confinement at an establishment in the region.

The rescued women reported that they had incurred debts at the location, were not receiving any payments, and the owners were preventing them from leaving. The operation highlights ongoing concerns about human trafficking and forced labor in the region.
