Brazilian Motorcyclist Fined R$195 for Stacking Stools on HelmetA motorcycle rider in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, southern Espírito Santo, was spotted transporting stacked plastic stools on top of his helmet, a scene that went viral on social media on Thursday, the 7th.

According to the city's traffic undersecretary, Paulo Chagas, this practice is a serious violation of the Brazilian Traffic Code. Specifically, Article 244 prohibits motorcyclists from transporting any item that exceeds the height of their head or the length of the handlebars.

The consequences for this infraction are significant: the rider received five points on their National Driver's License and was issued a fine of R$ 195.

Experts have warned of the extreme danger involved. The probability of a neck fracture in the event of a fall is very high when carrying such an unbalanced load. Furthermore, if the items come loose while in motion, they could pose a serious threat to other drivers on the road.
