Federal Police Probe Links Senator to Banco Master PaymentsA Polícia Federal investigation has uncovered an alleged corruption scheme involving Senator Ciro Nogueira and Banco Master banker Daniel Vorcaro. According to the probe, monthly payments made to the senator reportedly increased from R$300,000 to R$500,000.
The investigation alleges that Senator Nogueira instrumentalized his political mandate to present legislative amendments drafted by Banco Master. This includes Emenda nº 11 to PEC nº 65/2023, which aimed to raise the limits of the Fundo Garantidor de Créditos (FGC) guarantee.
In response to the findings, the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) has ordered the suspension of companies involved in the scheme and placed the parties under monitoring. The case highlights ongoing efforts to combat corruption within Brazil's political and financial sectors.
