The reason cited for the mass termination was "unjustified absence" during a labor strike that has been ruled illegal by the Justice Court of Santa Catarina.

The decision was published in the Official Diary on Wednesday, the 6th. The Municipal Public Service Workers' Union of Florianópolis (Sintrasem) expressed regret over the action and stated it is pursuing legal measures in response.

Strike Reaches 15th Day, Disrupts ServicesThe strike, which has now entered its 15th day, has significantly impacted municipal services. According to the data, 24% of professionals in the municipal basic education system have joined the work stoppage. This has resulted in the closure of three schools and ten early childhood education centers.

The labor action has also extended to the health sector, where 10% of workers have adhered to the movement.
