A new Quaest poll released on Wednesday shows a regional divide in the Brazilian presidential race. Lula leads in Pernambuco, Ceará, and Bahia, while Flávio Bolsonaro leads in Paraná. The candidates are statistically tied in key states like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Pará, with a significant number of undecided voters.

Quaest Poll Reveals Regional Divide in Brazilian Presidential RaceA new survey conducted by Quaest and released on Wednesday, the 6th, highlights a clear regional split in voting intentions for the upcoming Brazilian presidential election. The poll tested a first-round scenario with five pre-candidates across ten states.

The data indicates that former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) holds a lead in the northeastern states of Pernambuco, Ceará, and Bahia. In contrast, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) is shown to be leading in the southern state of Paraná.

In several other strategically important states, the race is extremely tight. The poll shows a technical tie between the candidates of the PT and PL parties in Pará, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Rio Grande do Sul. Furthermore, in Goiás, a technical tie is reported between Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) and Flávio Bolsonaro.

The survey, which covered ten states, also points to highly competitive contests in key electoral battlegrounds such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Pará. A notable finding is the significant percentage of voters who remain undecided, which could be a crucial factor as the election approaches.
