Former Football Figure Arrested in São Paulo: Wanted for HomicidesJosé Jairo de Moura Cavalcanti, a former football figure accused of involvement in crimes including homicides and extortion, was arrested in São Paulo on Monday night. The arrest was carried out by military police of the Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar (Rota) during tactical patrols in the Luz region of central São Paulo.
Cavalcanti was identified as a member of the extermination group known as 'Thundercats,' which operated in the state of Pernambuco. He was wanted by the justice system prior to his apprehension.
Following his arrest, Cavalcanti was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) and subsequently transferred to the Pinheiros IV Provisional Detention Center (CDP), where he remains at the disposal of the justice system.
The arrest highlights ongoing law enforcement efforts to apprehend individuals wanted for serious crimes, including those with connections to organized criminal groups.
