Pará Law Requires Aggressors to Pay for Electronic Ankle MonitorsThe Legislative Assembly of Pará (Alepa) confirmed on Wednesday that it has received a bill from the state government. The proposed law would require individuals who commit aggression against women to pay for the electronic ankle monitors used as a precautionary measure by the judiciary.

The bill was submitted by Governor Hana Ghassan. If passed, it would shift the financial cost of the monitoring devices from the state to the convicted aggressors themselves.
