Authorities in Rondônia are investigating a criminal network suspected of using social media to glorify Nazism and incite hatred, with one suspect identified in Porto Velho.

Law enforcement officials in the Brazilian state of Rondônia have launched a formal investigation into a criminal group accused of promoting Nazi ideology and spreading hate speech through online platforms. The probe centers on individuals suspected of using virtual communities to disseminate extremist content to members across multiple states.

According to the Civil Police of Rondônia, the suspects allegedly operated within online groups that attracted participants from various regions of the country. Beyond glorifying Nazi ideology, the group is also accused of encouraging vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing emotional distress, to engage in self-harm.

The investigation is being led by the Delegacia de Repressão a Crimes Cibernéticos (DRCC), the state's specialized cybercrime division. The unit has received support from Ciberlab, a cyber operations laboratory linked to Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

A coordinated operation carried out on Friday aimed to gather critical evidence to advance the case. Investigators focused on collecting digital proof and identifying the individuals involved in the alleged criminal activities.

Authorities have confirmed that at least one suspect has been identified in the state capital of Porto Velho. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to uncover the full scope of the group's operations and bring those responsible to justice.

The case highlights the growing challenge Brazilian law enforcement faces in combating online extremism and hate crimes facilitated through social media networks. Officials have emphasized the importance of public vigilance and reporting of suspicious online activity.
