A hairstylist in São Paulo was stabbed by a client weeks after she initially praised his work. The attack, captured on security cameras, followed escalating complaints about a hair highlighting service.

In a shocking incident in São Paulo's Barra Funda neighborhood, a hairstylist was stabbed by a disgruntled client inside his own salon. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, May 5th, was captured by the establishment's security cameras. The victim, Eduardo Ferrari, sustained a superficial wound to his back.

The assailant, identified as Laís Gabriela Barbosa da Cunha, had been a client at the Casa Ferrare salon on Avenida Marquês de São Vicente. Weeks prior to the attack, she had undergone a hair highlighting and texturizing procedure performed by Ferrari. According to police reports, she initially left the salon satisfied with the results and even posted positive reviews on social media.

However, her satisfaction reportedly turned to anger about a week later. Witnesses told police she began sending messages to the salon's WhatsApp, complaining about the service and demanding a refund. The complaints escalated into threats, with one employee stating she expressed a desire to "set fire" to the professional. She was advised to seek legal channels if she wished to dispute the service.

The security footage shows the tense confrontation. Ferrari was attending to another client when Cunha approached him. After a brief conversation, she retrieved a knife from her purse and stabbed him in the back. Staff and security personnel quickly intervened and restrained her.

In videos recorded after the incident, the client explained her frustration, claiming the hairstylist had used a razor to cut her hair, leaving her bangs looking like the cartoon character "Cebolinha" from the Brazilian comic Turma da Mônica. She confessed to the crime, according to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP).

The case was registered as bodily harm, threats, and self-harm at the 91st Police District. It has been forwarded to the Special Criminal Court (Jecrim), where the suspect is typically released to await trial. The Public Prosecutor's Office and the court will now analyze the case and may propose alternative measures such as agreements, fines, or community service.
