The Tangará da Serra shopping center in Mato Grosso has reopened its doors following a one-week closure caused by a fire in a perfume store. No injuries were reported, and normal weekend operations have resumed.

After a week-long closure for safety inspections, the Tangará da Serra shopping center in Mato Grosso officially reopened its doors to the public on Friday, May 8th. The shutdown was prompted by a significant fire that broke out in a perfume store within the complex on April 30th.

The incident began in the early morning hours when a cleaning staff member arrived to find the corridors filled with smoke. Firefighters responded to the scene and battled the blaze for approximately 90 minutes. Their efforts, which involved deploying around 15,000 liters of water and fire-suppressing agents, successfully contained the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to other areas of the shopping center.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the management made the decision to suspend all activities at the center as a precautionary measure. This allowed for a thorough technical assessment of the building's structural integrity and safety systems to be conducted by the Official Forensic and Technical Identification team.

With the evaluation complete and the building deemed safe, the shopping center announced its reopening. Operations resumed at 10:00 AM on Friday, with the center confirming that all services and stores would be operating on a normal schedule throughout the weekend.

In a statement, the shopping center management expressed their enthusiasm for welcoming customers back. They invited the public to take advantage of special promotions and to rediscover the venue as their favorite shopping destination.

While the physical damage was largely confined to the single perfume store, which was destroyed by the flames, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released the official forensic report detailing the origin of the blaze.

The swift response from the fire department and the subsequent safety protocols allowed the community hub to resume its role in the local economy with minimal long-term disruption. Based on reporting from g1.
