In a serious incident that has drawn attention in the Federal District, authorities have apprehended a teenager in connection with a violent crime against a minor. The case unfolded on Wednesday, May 6th, at the Jequitibá Ecological Park in the Sobradinho region.
According to the investigation, a 16-year-old male is accused of committing an act analogous to the crime of rape of a vulnerable person. The victim is a 14-year-old. Reports indicate the suspect allegedly offered alcoholic beverages to the victim, leading to a state of cognitive impairment.
The situation escalated when the suspect reportedly pulled the victim by the arm and led them into a wooded area of the park. A friend of the victim attempted to intervene and stop the assault. However, the suspect allegedly brandished a pocketknife, made threats, and coerced the friend to leave the scene.
The case came to the attention of specialized police through the Military Police. An MP team responded and transported the victims and witnesses to the Children and Adolescents Police Station (DCA I). The teenage suspect had fled the location before police arrived.
A subsequent search operation was launched by the Civil Police. The suspect was located and apprehended in the city of Planaltina, also within the Federal District. He was taken into custody in flagrante delicto.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about violence against minors in public spaces. The Jequitibá Ecological Park is a known recreational area in Sobradinho. The case is now under the jurisdiction of the specialized DCA for further investigation and legal proceedings.
