Uralmash head coach Anton Yudin reveals the team's ambitious goal to finish in the top four or five of the VTB United League next season, aiming higher after

Uralmash head coach Anton Yudin has outlined the team's ambitious targets for the upcoming VTB United League season. The Yekaterinburg-based club is setting its sights on a significant improvement in the standings.

In a statement reported by TASS, Yudin explained the club's philosophy of setting high goals. "We want to finish in a higher place next season," he said. "I think it's right to set elevated targets and strive for something that might seem unattainable. We discussed with the club president aiming for fifth or fourth place next year. These goals might change, but that is what was communicated for now."

This ambition follows a season where Uralmash secured a sixth-place finish in the regular season of the VTB United League. Their campaign in the playoffs was cut short in the first round, where they faced a formidable opponent in Zenit.

The series against Zenit concluded with a 1-3 defeat for Uralmash, ending their postseason run. Despite the early exit, the experience appears to have fueled the team's desire to climb higher in the league hierarchy.

Setting a target of fourth or fifth place represents a clear step forward for the organization. It signals a commitment from both the coaching staff and the front office to build upon the foundation established in the previous season.

The VTB United League is a highly competitive environment, and improving by one or two positions requires consistent performance throughout the long regular season. Yudin's public declaration of these goals sets a clear benchmark for the team's progress.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Uralmash to see if they can translate this ambition into on-court results and secure a higher finish in the standings.
