Founded in 1994, Club Deportivo Universidad de Concepción is a professional football team from the city of Concepción, Chile. The club was established by the Universidad de Concepción as a sporting project to represent the institution and the Biobío region, quickly rising through the lower divisions to establish itself in Chile's top flight.
