Votorantim's mayor confirms two new cabinet changes: the Health Secretary departs and a new Education Secretary is named, marking over 10 shifts in one year.

The municipal government of Votorantim, São Paulo, has announced another round of significant changes within its top administrative ranks. The city confirmed the departure of its Health Secretary, Robertson Magalhães Jordão, commonly known as Beto Jordão, and the appointment of Tiago Antonio de Araújo to lead the Education department.

Beto Jordão formally requested to leave his position last Tuesday, May 5th. His official removal from the role was published in the municipal official gazette on Friday, May 8th. He had been overseeing the Health secretariat since February 2025. Prior to his tenure in Votorantim, Beto Jordão held similar leadership positions in the health departments of other municipalities, including Piedade and Salto de Pirapora. As of now, no successor has been officially named to fill the vacancy he leaves behind.

Simultaneously, the administration has moved to fill the leadership of the Education secretariat. Tiago Antonio de Araújo has been officially named as the new secretary. He is scheduled to assume his duties at the start of the next business week, beginning Monday, May 11th.

These two latest personnel moves are part of a broader pattern of instability within Mayor Weber Manga's (Republicanos) first-tier cabinet. Since taking office just over a year ago, Mayor Manga's administration has now executed more than ten separate changes involving secretaries across various government portfolios.

The frequency of these leadership transitions highlights ongoing challenges in maintaining consistent direction within key municipal departments. Each change can impact ongoing projects, institutional memory, and the implementation of public policies in critical areas like health and education for the residents of Votorantim.
