Woman Arrested for Alleged Assault on Pregnant Domestic WorkerCarolina Sthela Ferreira dos Anjos, a businesswoman suspected of assaulting and torturing a 19-year-old pregnant domestic worker in Paço do Lumiar, in the Greater São Luís region, was arrested on Thursday morning in Teresina, Piauí.
According to the Piauí Public Security Secretariat (SSP-PI), Carolina was staying at a relative's house in the state capital. She had been under surveillance by the Civil Police and was located after stopping at a gas station in the São Cristóvão neighborhood, near the Public Security Secretariat.
The arrest follows allegations of severe physical abuse against the young domestic worker, who was pregnant at the time of the reported incident. Authorities acted on information leading to her apprehension in Piauí.
