Founded in 1954 through the merger of two local clubs, Club de Deportes La Calera and Club Atlético Cemento Melón, Unión La Calera is a professional football club based in the industrial city of La Calera, in Chile's Valparaíso Region. The club's identity is deeply intertwined with its working-class roots, earning the nickname "El Cementero" (The Cement Worker) in homage to the city's prominent cement industry.
