Eintracht Frankfurt manager Albert Riera will leave the club this summer. The Spanish coach, who took charge in January 2026, previously attracted interest from Spartak Moscow.

Eintracht Frankfurt will part ways with head coach Albert Riera at the conclusion of the current Bundesliga season. The news was reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg on the social media platform X.

The Spanish tactician took the reins at the Frankfurt-based club in January 2026. Under his guidance, the team has secured 43 points from 32 league matches, placing them eighth in the German top-flight standings. This position leaves them 15 points adrift of the European qualification spots.

Before his stint in Germany, Riera built his reputation with Slovenian side NK Celje. He notably guided that club into the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League, a performance that caught the eye of several European clubs.

Among those interested parties was Russian giants Spartak Moscow. The Moscow club had considered Riera for their managerial vacancy but ultimately appointed Juan Carlos Carcedo instead.

Riera's tenure at Eintracht Frankfurt, while not yielding a European finish, has been a period of stabilization for the club following his mid-season arrival. The search for his successor is expected to begin shortly.

The departure marks the end of a specific chapter for the club, which will now look to build a new project for the upcoming campaign. Riera's future plans remain undisclosed at this time.
