José Andrade, a 28-year-old former footballer from Madrid who played for CD Móstoles URJC and UD Móstoles Balompié, is now a candidate for Mister Madrid Toledo in the Mister RNB España beauty pageant.

José Andrade is trading the football pitch for the stage. The 28-year-old former Madrid-based footballer has been announced as a candidate for Mister Madrid Toledo, a regional qualifier for the national Mister RNB España beauty pageant, which bills itself as the most important annual beauty contest currently held.

Andrade's sporting background is firmly rooted in the Madrid football scene. He previously played for UD Móstoles Balompié, a club competing in the Preferente division. He also had a stint with CD Móstoles URJC, a team currently in Tercera RFEF that has experienced spells in Segunda RFEF during the 2020/21 and 2024/25 seasons. His connection to the club runs deep, as his father, who shares his name, has served as the delegate for the Móstoles URJC first team for several seasons.

Beyond his football career, Andrade has built a life centered around sports. He works as a paddle tennis instructor at a sports center in Parque Coímbra, the Móstoles neighborhood where he lives. He holds a qualification as a Higher Technician in Teaching and Sociosports Animation (TSEAS, formerly TAFAD) and continues to play futsal competitively at a local level in the neighboring city of Alcorcón.

The opportunity to enter the pageant world came to him unexpectedly. Representatives from RNB contacted him through social media, proposing he participate. Andrade explained that he had been considering such an endeavor for some time, as it was something that had always intrigued him, especially recently. The timing aligned, and he accepted the offer.

For Andrade, this represents a chance to prove that goals can be achieved with determination. He expressed a desire to demonstrate to others that if you want something, you can attain it, and to test his own limits to see how far he can go in fulfilling his dreams.

The journey officially began on Saturday, May 2nd, with a gala in Torrijos, Toledo, where candidates received their sashes. Although Andrade is a resident of Móstoles, he will compete representing the nearby municipality of Leganés, with which he has ties. The candidates will now undergo a series of tests and events where a jury will evaluate their skills.

The final gala is scheduled for July 4th. At that event, two male and two female winners of Mister RNB Madrid Toledo will be selected to advance to the national competition. José Andrade is now focused on this new challenge, aiming to achieve something significant beyond the football field.
