Guadalajara beat Arenteiro 2-0 to move to 15th with 40 points, temporarily exiting relegation. Goals by Cadete and Muñoz keep survival hopes alive pending

Guadalajara secured a vital 2-0 victory over already-relegated Arenteiro at Pedro Escartín, temporarily moving out of the relegation zone in Primera RFEF. The win lifts them to 15th place with 40 points, but they must wait for results from Ourense, Talavera, and Cacereño to confirm their safety.

The hosts started brightly, with David Amigo testing the defense early. The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Neskes broke down the left and squared for Kike Cadete, who fired home first-time past Alvin.

Heavy rain affected play, and Arenteiro, severely depleted with only 16 players due to injuries and absences, began to threaten. Referee Gonzalo González twice consulted the FVS for potential penalties in Guadalajara's box, but neither was awarded.

Just before halftime, Guadalajara doubled their lead. Pablo Muñoz converted a penalty in the eighth minute of added time, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.

At halftime, Arenteiro coach Juanfran made a triple substitution, introducing Eliseo and Adilson, among others. However, the visitors struggled to find cohesion, leaving gaps that Guadalajara failed to exploit decisively.

Guadalajara goalkeeper Zarco was forced off injured in the 72nd minute, replaced by Dani Vicente. Arenteiro's Adilson had a few attempts, but neither side could add to the scoreline. Guille Perero missed a one-on-one chance in stoppage time, and Adilson did the same at the other end.

The win keeps Guadalajara's survival hopes alive, though they remain dependent on other results. The team's performance, especially the early goal and penalty, proved decisive in a tense relegation battle.
