The decision was made due to the continuation of construction and services related to the ordering of public use and trail infrastructure within the conservation unit. The secretariat stated that the ongoing interventions require restrictive measures to ensure visitor safety and preserve the areas under construction.
The official text also notes that the suspension may be further extended if the conditions that motivated the measure persist, subject to technical justification.
The Morro de Santo Antônio state monument is located approximately 30 kilometers from Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso.
