A major police operation in São Paulo has dismantled a sophisticated money laundering network linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal faction. The action, dubbed Operation Caronte, resulted in the seizure of a prize-winning rodeo bull valued at over R$1 million, approximately 390 other animals, and 14 vehicles, including luxury models.
The primary target of the operation was Eduardo Magrini, known online as 'Diabo Loiro,' an influencer and alleged PCC member. Magrini was previously arrested for his suspected role in a plot to assassinate a state prosecutor. The investigation revealed that businesses in the transportation and rodeio sectors were allegedly used to launder proceeds from international drug trafficking through 'straw' partners.
Among the seized assets was the bull 'Império,' which ranked third nationally in the CNAR rodeo standings in July 2025. The confiscated livestock includes competition bulls, cattle for slaughter, and horses. All animals will be placed with a custodian and later sold, with the proceeds directed to public coffers.
The operation executed 11 search warrants across multiple cities, including Campinas, Atibaia, and Osasco. Authorities also seized R$15,850 in cash, cell phones, and card machines. A court order blocked R$10 million in bank accounts connected to the suspects.
Financial and tax analyses by Brazil's anti-money laundering lab and financial intelligence unit first raised suspicions, uncovering movements inconsistent with the suspects' declared income. The scheme is believed to have been operating since 2016.
Magrini, who presented himself as a rural producer and digital influencer with over 100,000 followers, is also linked to the PCC's 2006 attacks on a state criminal investigations department. Based on reporting from g1.
