Pernambuco government opens 1 million free spots for an online AI course. The program covers fundamentals, ethics, and practical prompt training for all

The government of Pernambuco, Brazil, has launched a massive educational initiative, opening one million free spots for an online course in Artificial Intelligence. The program is designed to be accessible to a broad audience, welcoming both technology professionals and workers from other sectors. Registrations are now open and will remain available until all positions are filled.

Interested individuals can secure their spot through the official PE.gov mobile application or via the website of the Secretaria de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Pernambuco (Secti). The course is delivered entirely online, featuring a minimum workload of four hours, making it a flexible option for those with busy schedules.

The curriculum is structured into three distinct modules. The first module covers the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, providing a solid foundation for beginners. The second module shifts focus to the ethical considerations and social impacts of the rapidly evolving technology, a critical area of understanding for modern users.

The final module is dedicated to practical application. Participants will engage in hands-on activities designed to teach them how to effectively communicate with AI systems. This includes training on crafting precise prompts to ensure the AI delivers the expected results, a skill becoming increasingly valuable in the digital workplace.

"You will learn how to tell the AI what you need and the AI will deliver what you expect. You will learn this very well in the course," explained Marília Amorim, the director of Technological Formation at Secti. The initiative is part of the broader INOVA-PE program, executed in partnership with the StartSe platform.

This large-scale training effort represents a significant investment in the state's workforce, aiming to equip a million residents with foundational AI literacy. The program underscores the growing importance of understanding artificial intelligence across all professional fields, not just within the tech industry itself.
