PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov received the lowest player rating from Footmercato for his performance in the 1-1 Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvei Safonov faced criticism from the French sports publication Footmercato following the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich. The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Arena Munich, saw the Russian international make five saves while conceding one goal.

Footmercato assigned Safonov a rating of six out of ten, marking him as the lowest-rated player in the PSG squad for the crucial European encounter. This score placed him alongside winger Désiré Doué and midfielders João Neves and Vitinha, who all received the same assessment.

The publication reserved its highest praise for PSG defender William Pacho, who earned an impressive eight out of ten for his defensive contributions. The ratings highlighted a clear disparity in performance evaluations across the Parisian lineup.

Interestingly, the analysis extended to the opposing Bayern Munich side, where no player managed to achieve even a six-point rating. Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer received the highest mark among the Bavarians with a 5.5, while winger Luis Diaz was given the lowest score of three.

Additional player ratings from L'Équipe provided further insight into the individual performances. Safonov again received a six, while Zaïre-Emery earned a 7.5 and Marquinhos a seven. Pacho's strong showing was reaffirmed with another eight, and Mendes and Ruiz both scored 6.5.

The midfield trio of Vitinha, Neves, and Doué all received sixes from L'Équipe, consistent with their Footmercato evaluations. Wingers Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé were rated seven and 6.5 respectively, rounding out the assessments for the French champions.

The draw leaves the tie finely balanced heading into the next stage, with individual performances under the microscope from both French and international media outlets.
