A 24-year-old man was arrested for drug trafficking in the Eldorado neighborhood of São Francisco, Minas Gerais. The incident unfolded when a Military Police patrol unit spotted several individuals in suspicious activity near a public school.
Upon noticing the approaching police vehicle, the suspect fled the scene, abandoning a bicycle and a bag. While part of the police team remained to conduct approaches at the location, other officers initiated a pursuit of the fleeing man.
The chase concluded on Rua Oito after the suspect attempted to evade capture by invading the yard of a private residence. He was apprehended by the pursuing officers following this failed escape attempt.
Inside the abandoned bag, police discovered 43 marijuana cigarettes, a larger portion of the same substance, and a bicycle pump. Initially, the man denied ownership of the narcotics, claiming only the bicycle and the air pump belonged to him.
However, during subsequent questioning, the suspect confessed to having acquired the drugs with the intention of reselling them to his coworkers. The Military Police did not disclose the man's specific occupation or workplace.
