A tragic incident at a school in Goiás has claimed the life of a longtime employee. Yvone Resende Pimenta, a 63-year-old administrative worker, passed away after suffering a medical emergency at her workplace.

The event occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, May 7th, at the Colégio Estadual Herta Layser O'Dwyer in the city of Anápolis. According to the State Secretariat of Education of Goiás (Seduc), Pimenta experienced an epileptic seizure while on duty.

During the seizure, she fell and struck her head on the ground, resulting in a severe contusion. School management immediately contacted emergency services, including the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and the Fire Department.

Responders arrived quickly and provided aid, but unfortunately, Pimenta's injuries were too severe. She was pronounced dead at the school. The secretariat expressed deep regret over the loss of their colleague.

In the wake of the tragedy, the school suspended all activities for the following day, Friday, May 8th. The institution also shared its condolences with Pimenta's family, friends, and the entire school community.

Tributes poured in on social media from those who knew her. Colleagues and former students described her as a wonderful person, a great friend, and a warrior woman who had a positive impact on many lives at the Herta Layser school.

Information regarding the funeral arrangements has not yet been released. The school has stated it will provide details about the farewell ceremony for the beloved employee at a later time.
