Vlahovic scores fastest goal in Juventus history after 11 seconds, two goals disallowed, as Juve beats Lecce 1-0 to keep fourth place in Serie A.

Lecce, Italy – Juventus secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Lecce at the Stadio Via del Mare on Saturday, keeping their grip on fourth place in Serie A. The win was sealed by Dušan Vlahović’s historic goal after just 11 seconds – the fastest in Juventus’s history, breaking Arturo Vidal’s record set in 2012. The result moves Juve three points clear of Roma, who are one point behind but with a game in hand, in the frantic race for Champions League qualification.

The match started in electrifying fashion. From the kickoff, Teun Koopmeiners played a long ball forward for Andrea Cambiaso, who combined with Vlahović. The Serbian striker controlled the ball, turned between two defenders, and rifled a left-footed shot under the crossbar past Falcone. The goal stunned the home crowd and set the tone for a tense encounter.

Lecce responded well, nearly equalizing in the 3rd minute when Lameck Banda’s cross found Walid Cheddira, but Michele Di Gregorio made a vital save. Juventus then hit the post through Francisco Conceição after a brilliant solo run. The first half continued with both sides creating chances, but neither could add to the scoreline.

The second half saw more controversy. In the 49th minute, Vlahović appeared to score again after Falcone had denied Cambiaso and the Serb, but the goal was ruled out for offside in the buildup. Later, Pierre Kalulu thought he had made it 2-0 from a corner, but referee Andrea Colombo called for a VAR review. The check showed Vlahović was offside and interfering with the goalkeeper, so the goal was disallowed. Juventus were left frustrated but remained ahead.

Defensively, Juventus were solid. Kelly and Bremer dealt with aerial threats, while Manuel Locatelli screened the back four effectively. Lecce’s best chance came in the 55th minute when Pierotti beat Kalulu and crossed for Cheddira, but the striker miscued his finish. Juventus also had to manage without the injured Yildiz, who started despite knee inflammation but was substituted later.

Pre-match, Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti spoke to DAZN about the need for resilience: “We have to try and win this match. Pressure is part of being at Juventus; we must use it to our advantage.” He also highlighted Vlahović’s qualities: “He can hold up the ball and finish. We rely on him.”

Winger Francisco Conceição told Sky: “We need to win and show we are stronger. There’s no pressure, only the joy of playing football.” He was a constant threat on the right flank, drawing fouls and creating space.

Lecce coach Eusebio Di Francesco acknowledged the importance of the match: “You feel the tension in the stadium. We have to take it step by step.” His team remains in the relegation battle, level on points with Cremonese, with three games left to secure survival.

The win provides Juventus with breathing room, but with Roma pushing hard, Spalletti’s men cannot afford to relax. The record goal from Vlahović will be a talking point, but the team will need consistency in the final three matches to secure a Champions League spot.
