Manchester City star Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw remains non-committal on her future, with her contract expiring this summer. The prolific striker has attracted interest from Chelsea and US clubs after a record-breaking season.

Manchester City's prolific forward Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw has offered a cryptic response when questioned about her long-term future with the club. The Jamaican international, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, indicated she is focused on the present but left the door open for a departure.

Shaw's comments come after a stellar campaign where she played a pivotal role in securing the Women's Super League title for City. Despite the celebratory atmosphere, the 29-year-old striker is understood to be keen on exploring other opportunities. This development follows months of discussions regarding a potential new deal, which have not yet resulted in an agreement.

The numbers speak for themselves regarding Shaw's importance. Since arriving from Bordeaux in 2021, she has amassed an incredible 110 goals in just 133 appearances for the Manchester club. Her impact this season has been particularly decisive, with her goals directly contributing to 10 points in the league standings. She is on course to win the WSL Golden Boot for a third consecutive year, having netted 19 times in 21 league games.

Her remarkable form includes setting a new league record in March for the fastest hat-trick, scored in a blistering 12 minutes and 37 seconds. Shaw's trophy cabinet at City already includes a Women's League Cup from 2021 and the WSL Player of the Season award for the 2023/24 campaign.

Interest in securing her signature is reportedly high. Chelsea is named as one of the clubs monitoring the situation, alongside several teams from the United States. The prospect of losing such a transformative player on a free transfer presents a significant challenge for Manchester City as they look to build on their recent success.

Shaw herself remained focused on the immediate task at hand. "For me, my focus has always been on winning the league," she stated. "Finishing the season strong with City. I've been there five years. Every time I go out onto the pitch, I try and do my best. We have another game to come against Chelsea. At the end of the season, we'll see."

The club faces Chelsea in the Women's FA Cup semi-finals this Sunday, offering Shaw a chance to help City pursue a domestic double. Her future beyond that, however, remains the subject of intense speculation.
