A 60-year-old woman died in a collision between a motorcycle and a municipal car in Jaciara, MT. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with a leg fracture. Police are investigating the cause.

A tragic traffic accident in the city of Jaciara, Mato Grosso, has claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Thursday, May 7th, at a local intersection.

The victim has been identified as Luzineth Soares de Brito. She was a passenger on a motorcycle that was involved in a collision with a car belonging to the Jaciara municipal government.

According to the initial police report, the driver of the city vehicle was traveling along Rua Acoce. Upon reaching the intersection with Rua Moema, his car struck the motorcycle.

The impact caused both the motorcyclist and his passenger, Ms. Soares de Brito, to be thrown onto the roadway. Emergency services responded to the scene.

The woman sustained severe injuries in the crash. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but, tragically, she did not survive her wounds.

The motorcycle driver also suffered injuries, specifically a fracture to his leg. He was admitted to the hospital for further care. The driver of the municipal car involved in the accident was not injured.

A key point of the investigation centers on right-of-way. The car's driver told police that the motorcycle had failed to yield at the intersection. However, authorities noted that the location lacks stop signs or road markings that would clearly designate which street has priority.

The Prefecture of Jaciara was contacted by local media for a statement regarding the involvement of one of its vehicles but had not provided a response at the time of reporting. The Civil Police have stated that a full investigation into the precise cause of the accident is underway.
