Hospital Dialysis Service Suspended in Campina Grande, BrazilThe Paraíba Public Ministry (MPPB) has launched an investigation into the reported suspension of hemodialysis services for patients of Brazil's Unified Health System (SUS) at Hospital Antônio Targino in Campina Grande.
Patients dependent on the life-sustaining treatment reported that their hemodialysis sessions were halted. In response, Justice Prosecutor Adriana Amorim has ordered the hospital's administration to provide clarification and restore the essential service within 24 hours.
The Municipal Health Secretariat has also been formally notified to report on the status of its contract with the healthcare unit.
