Instituto Bacarelli scored 75.5 points to win the public bid for São Paulo's Municipal Theatre management, defeating current operator Sustenidos who scored

In a decisive victory, the Instituto Bacarelli has been selected as the new manager of the iconic Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. The decision was announced following a public selection process, with the results published in the city's official gazette.

The Bacarelli institute secured a commanding lead in the evaluation, earning a total of 75.5 points. This score comfortably surpassed the 57.5 points awarded to Sustenidos, the organization social that has been managing the historic venue.

The selection committee's assessment was based on four key criteria outlined in the public notice. These included institutional experience, the qualifications of technical and artistic teams, the consistency of the artistic and audience development proposal, and financial viability.

According to the technical report, Instituto Bacarelli demonstrated "more consistent technical performance across all evaluated criteria." The committee specifically highlighted the high qualification of its leadership and artistic staff, the organization of required documentation, and how well its proposals aligned with the directives of the Theatro Municipal Foundation.

Conversely, the incumbent manager, Sustenidos, lost critical points due to several shortcomings. The evaluation cited documentary errors, inconsistencies in its artistic proposal, and weaknesses in its budget execution capacity as primary reasons for the lower score.

Further deductions for Sustenidos were attributed to scheduling conflicts among its productions and the underutilization of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra, a key asset of the theatre.

The transition marks a significant change for one of Brazil's most important cultural institutions. The new management is expected to bring a fresh operational and artistic vision to the historic São Paulo landmark.
