Police in Cuiabá apprehended two women suspected of stealing 61 products from a perfume store chain. The operation led to the recovery of stolen goods, a vehicle, and a mobile phone across two neighborhoods.

A coordinated police operation in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, has resulted in the arrest of two women suspected of orchestrating a series of thefts from a local perfume store chain. The arrests were made on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 7th, following a tip-off about a vehicle allegedly used in the crimes.

According to the Military Police (PM), officers received information regarding the location of a car linked to the thefts. The team proceeded to the reported address in the Altos da Serra neighborhood to investigate the claim. Upon arrival, they located the vehicle parked in front of the residence of one of the suspects.

A search of the premises uncovered a significant cache of stolen merchandise. Officers recovered 52 products that had been taken from the perfume retail outlets. This initial discovery provided crucial evidence linking the suspects to the reported crimes.

The investigation then expanded to a second location. Police traveled to an address in the Francisca Borba neighborhood, where they conducted a further search. This effort yielded an additional nine stolen items, bringing the total number of recovered products to 61.

In addition to the perfume products, authorities also seized the car believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle during the thefts, along with a mobile phone. The two female suspects were subsequently transported to the Centros Integrados de Segurança e Cidadania (CISC) Verdão for processing and further questioning.

The PM noted that the recovered goods were confirmed to have been taken from multiple branches of the same perfume store chain in previously reported theft incidents. The operation successfully dismantled what appears to have been a coordinated effort targeting the retailer.

While two arrests were made, police indicated that a third individual, a man also implicated in the thefts, remains at large. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to locate this additional suspect and fully understand the scope of the criminal activity.
