Ipatinga's municipal workers' strike ended on May 5 after an agreement. The deal includes a 4.26% salary increase, retroactive pay, and improved meal vouchers.

Ipatinga Municipal Workers' Strike Ends with Salary AgreementThe strike by municipal workers in Ipatinga, which began on April 27, officially concluded on Tuesday, May 5, following a negotiated agreement between the city administration and the workers' representatives.

The work stoppage was driven by several key grievances, including delays in vacation pay, outstanding salary issues, and demands for better working conditions.

Key Terms of the AgreementThe central element of the settlement is a 4.26% salary increase, which will be applied to the May payroll. Retroactive amounts owed will be paid out in installments during May, June, and July.

Meal voucher benefits have also been adjusted. The vale-alimentação (food voucher) will now be R$ 465, and the vale-lanche (snack voucher) will be R$ 230. These new values are effective immediately but do not include retroactive payments.

Additional ProvisionsThe agreement also addresses vacation pay. An settlement for vacations referring to March and April has been reached, and the regular vacation schedule will be normalized starting in June.

Furthermore, the payment of severance for pending terminations will begin in May and continue through September. Discussions regarding administrative positions within the Ipatinga City Hall are scheduled to resume in July.
