In a significant judicial development, Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça has authorized the transfer of former BRB president Paulo Henrique Costa. The executive will be moved to the 19th Military Police Battalion in the Federal District, a facility commonly known as 'Papudinha.'

The decision, which is under judicial secrecy, was made on Friday, May 8th. According to the ruling, the change of prison unit is expected to take place on the same day. The Papudinha building is located within the larger Papuda Penitentiary Complex in the Jardim Botânico area.

This facility is situated just a few meters from the main Papuda units that house common prisoners. The 19th Battalion building has a capacity for 60 inmates. Paulo Henrique Costa has been held in custody in Brasília since April 16th.

His arrest is a direct result of a new phase of the 'Compliance Zero' operation, a major investigation into financial irregularities. The transfer represents a change in his detention conditions within the federal prison system.

The defense team for the former banking executive has not yet issued a public statement regarding the transfer. Media outlets, including TV Globo, have attempted to contact them for comment.

This move places Costa in a specific military police facility, distinct from the main Papuda penitentiary. The Papudinha is known for housing inmates in a different security context within the same complex.

The authorization by a Supreme Court justice underscores the high-profile nature of the case. The Compliance Zero operation has led to several high-level arrests in the financial sector.
