The government of Pernambuco has launched a massive educational initiative, opening one million free spots for an online course focused on Artificial Intelligence. The program is designed to be accessible to a broad audience, welcoming both technology professionals and workers from other sectors who wish to develop new skills.

Enrollment is currently open and will remain available until all spots are filled. Interested individuals can register through two primary channels: the official PE.gov mobile application or the website for the Secretaria de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Pernambuco (Secti). The course itself is delivered entirely online, requiring a minimum commitment of four hours from participants.

The curriculum is structured into three distinct modules. The first module covers the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, providing a solid foundation for learners. The second module shifts focus to the ethical considerations and social impacts associated with this rapidly evolving technology, a critical aspect of modern tech education.

The final module is designed to be highly practical. According to Marília Amorim, the director of Technological Training at Secti, this section allows participants to "get their hands dirty" by engaging in practical activities. A key component involves training and crafting effective prompts for AI systems, teaching users how to communicate their needs to the technology to achieve desired outcomes.

"You will learn how to tell the AI what you need and the AI will deliver what you expect. You will learn this very well in the course," Amorim detailed, highlighting the practical communication skills the program aims to impart.

The capacity-building effort is offered by the Secretaria de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Pernambuco through its INOVA-PE program. The initiative is being conducted in partnership with StartSe, a company specializing in technology and innovation education. This collaboration underscores the state's commitment to fostering digital literacy and preparing its workforce for the demands of an AI-driven future.
