Approximately 3,000 students at Unicamp's Limeira campus have entered a general strike, suspending undergraduate classes starting Wednesday. The action, approved by students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Faculty of Technology, will continue until the university responds to eight demands, with student housing as the top priority.

Unicamp Limeira Students Launch General Strike, Suspending ClassesApproximately 3,000 students at the University of Campinas (Unicamp) Limeira campus have initiated a general strike, leading to the suspension of all undergraduate classes starting Wednesday. The strike was formally approved and joined by students from two key faculties: the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA) and the Faculty of Technology (FT).

The student action comes in response to unresolved institutional concerns. According to the strike organizers, the work stoppage will continue indefinitely until Unicamp's administration directly addresses a set of eight specific demands. Among these, the provision of adequate student housing has been identified as the primary and most urgent issue requiring immediate attention.

The strike represents a significant disruption to academic activities at the Limeira campus, affecting thousands of students across multiple programs. University officials have not yet issued a public response to the strike action or the students' list of demands.
