Borussia Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in Bundesliga Matchday 33, securing 2nd place with 70 points. Goals from Guirassy, Schlotterbeck, and Inacio

Borussia Dortmund clinched second place in the Bundesliga with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park on Matchday 33 of the 2025/2026 season. The win gives them an unassailable 70-point total heading into the final matchday.

The visitors struck first through midfielder Can Uzun, but Dortmund responded before halftime. Striker Serhou Guirassy equalized late in the first half, and defender Nico Schlotterbeck then headed the hosts into the lead in stoppage time.

Forward Samuele Inacio extended the advantage midway through the second half, making it 3-1. Eintracht's Jonathan Burkardt pulled one back late to set up a tense finish, but Dortmund held firm for the three points.

The result means RB Leipzig, sitting third on 62 points from 32 games, cannot overtake Dortmund regardless of their remaining fixtures. The title race, however, remains separate, with Bayern Munich likely champions.

Dortmund entered the match needing a win to mathematically secure the runner-up spot after a surprising 1-0 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach the previous week. Eintracht Frankfurt also came in off a defeat, having fallen 2-1 to Hamburg.

Referee Patrick Ittrich officiated the contest. Dortmund manager Niko Kovac will now prepare his side for their final league fixture against Werder Bremen on May 16. Eintracht, coached by Albert Riera, face Stuttgart on the same day.

The victory caps a strong domestic campaign for Dortmund, who will return to the UEFA Champions League group stage next season as Bundesliga runners-up. Their 70 points represent a significant improvement over recent campaigns.
