Elderly Patient Passes Away During Routine Dental Appointment in Cuiabá Clinic

A 70-year-old man, Ary Leônidas Rangel, died during a dental procedure in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso. The cause is unknown, and police are investigating the incident as a death to be clarified.

A tragic incident unfolded at a dental clinic in the Jardim Cuiabá neighborhood of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, on Thursday, May 7th. A 70-year-old patient, identified as Ary Leônidas Rangel, passed away while undergoing dental procedures at the facility.

Emergency services were promptly called to the scene. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) arrived and their medical team attempted to revive the patient. Despite all resuscitation efforts, the doctor on duty pronounced Mr. Rangel dead at the clinic.

The specific cause of death remains unknown at this time. Medical and nursing records from the clinic have been handed over to the Civil Police to aid in their investigation.

Following standard protocol, the victim's body was transported to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for the necessary legal and forensic examinations.

The Civil Police have officially registered the case as a 'death to be clarified.' Authorities have stated there are currently no indications of criminal activity, but a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the patient's death.
