Three Women Injured After Vehicle Overturns on BR-101 Highway in Maruim

A vehicle overturned on the BR-101 highway in Maruim, Sergipe, leaving three women injured. One was trapped and rescued by firefighters, while the other two exited the car on their own.

A serious traffic incident occurred on Friday morning, May 8th, on the BR-101 highway in the municipality of Maruim, Sergipe. A vehicle overturned, resulting in injuries to three women who were occupants of the car.

The Military Fire Department of Sergipe (CBMSE) confirmed the accident and responded to the scene. According to the operation's commander, Lieutenant Vitor Carvalho, one of the passengers became trapped inside the wreckage following the rollover.

Firefighters worked to extricate the trapped woman, who was conscious throughout the rescue operation. Once freed, she was immediately transferred to the care of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) for further medical evaluation and treatment.

The other two women in the vehicle managed to exit the overturned car without assistance. One of them had sustained a head injury and received first aid directly from the firefighters at the scene.

The third occupant was also attended to by the Samu team. The specific conditions of all three injured women were not detailed in the initial report from the authorities.

The cause of the accident, which led to the vehicle overturning on that stretch of the BR-101, has not been disclosed. The incident highlights the dangers present on major Brazilian highways.
