The Serbian Super Liga, officially known as the Mozzart Bet Super Liga for sponsorship reasons, stands as the pinnacle of professional football in Serbia. Founded in 2006 following the dissolution of the Serbia and Montenegro league system, it represents the top tier of the Serbian football pyramid. The league's roots, however, trace back much further, inheriting the rich and turbulent history of Yugoslav and Serbian football. The competition features 16 teams playing a 30-round regular season, after which the league splits. The top eight enter a championship playoff, while the bottom eight contest a relegation playoff.
