World No. 10 Daniil Medvedev trained with Felix Auger-Aliassime in preparation for the Rome Masters. The Russian will begin his tournament in the second round.

Daniil Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion and current world No. 10, is putting in the work ahead of the prestigious Rome Masters. The 30-year-old Russian tennis star was spotted on the practice courts with Canadian talent Felix Auger-Aliassime, who holds the fifth spot in the ATP rankings.

The training session took place on May 7th as both players fine-tune their games for the Italian clay court event. Medvedev, known for his strategic baseline play, is looking to make a strong impression at the Foro Italico this year.

Medvedev's campaign in Rome will commence from the second round, where he awaits the winner of the match between Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas and Czech player Tomas Machac. This gives the Russian an extra day of rest and preparation before his opening match.

The Rome Masters tournament runs from May 6th through May 17th, featuring many of the world's top tennis players competing on the iconic red clay courts of the Italian capital.

Notably absent from this year's draw is defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. The Spanish sensation, who claimed the title last year, is unable to participate in the 2025 edition due to a hand injury that has sidelined him from competition.

With Alcaraz out of the picture, the tournament field appears more open than usual, potentially giving players like Medvedev and Auger-Aliassime a better opportunity to advance deep into the draw.
