A couple was robbed of their motorcycle at gunpoint in Montes Claros after a suspect fired a shot. Police detained three suspects and recovered the stolen

A violent robbery in the early hours of Friday morning in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, saw a couple targeted while riding their motorcycle through the José Carlos Valle de Lima neighborhood. The incident involved armed assailants who fired a weapon before making off with the victims' vehicle.

According to the Military Police (PM), the couple was approached by two men on another motorcycle. The passenger was armed and discharged a firearm, with the bullet striking the license plate of the victims' bike. The criminals then issued death threats and ordered the couple to surrender their motorcycle.

Following the report, police launched an immediate tracking operation. They successfully located the suspects traveling along Avenida São Judas. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspects refused to comply and initiated a high-speed chase, fleeing in the direction of Avenida das Américas.

The pursuit came to a dramatic conclusion when the pillion passenger discarded a .38 caliber garrucha revolver near a wall. Shortly after, both suspects on the motorcycle lost control and crashed, allowing police to apprehend them at the scene.

In total, three individuals were detained in connection with the robbery: two men aged 20 and 24, and a 17-year-old minor. The stolen motorcycle was successfully recovered by authorities and returned to its rightful owners.

The swift police response and subsequent recovery of the vehicle highlight the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat street crime in the region. The case underscores the risks faced by motorists and the importance of rapid police intervention.
