The defendant, Fábio Antônio de Pádua Júnior, was found guilty of femicide with aggravating factors. The total penalty includes 20 years of imprisonment in an initially closed regime, followed by 17 days of detention in a semi-open regime, and a fine. The court determined that the defendant cannot appeal while free and must begin serving the sentence immediately.

Crime Details and Immediate AftermathThe crime took place in the Vila Geny neighborhood. The victim, Daiane Cristina Celestiano de Pádua, 42 years old, was found dead at home with multiple knife wounds. According to the police report, the couple's daughter witnessed an argument between her parents and reported to the authorities that her father left the scene after the crime.

Fábio Antônio de Pádua Júnior was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Military Police on the day of the crime, in a city square.

Civil Damages AwardedIn addition to the criminal conviction, the man was also ordered to pay a minimum indemnity of R$ 50,000 to the victim's family for moral damages, plus R$ 20,000 for collective moral damages. The total financial penalty amounts to R$ 70,000.
