Manchester City is reportedly making significant progress in securing the long-term future of one of its most important defenders. According to reports, the Premier League club and Croatian international Josko Gvardiol are nearing an agreement on a contract extension.

Gvardiol suffered a fractured fibula in his right leg, which has sidelined him for a period.
