A significant drug seizure in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, has resulted in the arrest of a fugitive wanted by the justice system. The operation, conducted by the Civil Police, uncovered a massive cache of narcotics and led to the apprehension of a 29-year-old man who was already under a prison sentence for drug trafficking.

The police action was initiated following community reports that a house in the Parque do Lageado neighborhood was being used as a hub for storing and distributing illegal substances. Officers began surveillance on the property and quickly noted a pattern of rapid, short-duration visits by multiple individuals, a classic indicator of drug trafficking activity.

The breakthrough came when law enforcement personnel were able to visually confirm the presence of drugs and packaging materials through an opening in the property's perimeter wall. This visual confirmation provided the necessary grounds for a full-scale raid. Upon the arrival of patrol cars, the suspect attempted to flee back into the house and destroy a mobile phone he was carrying, but he was swiftly subdued by the officers on scene.

Inside the residence, police discovered a staggering quantity of illicit drugs. The haul included approximately 698 kilograms of marijuana and 181 kilograms of cocaine, bringing the total weight of the seized narcotics to nearly 880 kilograms. Alongside the drugs, officers also confiscated several mobile phones, a precision scale, and numerous smaller portions of drugs that had been prepared and packaged for individual sale.

The investigation revealed that the arrested individual was not a first-time offender. Records showed he had a prior conviction for drug trafficking and was actively evading a prison sentence, making him a wanted fugitive at the time of his capture. Two other people, a man and a teenager, were also present at the house during the police operation. According to the official incident report, both individuals stated that all the drugs found on the premises belonged solely to the arrested suspect.

All evidence and the detained individuals were subsequently transported to the Specialized Narcotics Repression Precinct (Denar) for further processing and investigation. The successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat drug trafficking networks in the region. Based on reporting from g1.
