Moscow Dynamo head coach Leonid Tambiev has officially confirmed that two of his defensemen will not be returning to the team. The players in question are Swedish import Fredrik Classon and Russian veteran Kirill Gotovets, both of whom saw their 2025/2026 campaign cut short by significant injuries.
The confirmation came during a media availability session, where Tambiev directly addressed the future of the two blueliners. When asked if Classon and Gotovets would remain with the organization, the coach provided a straightforward answer, citing the severity of their respective health issues as the primary reason for their departure.
Both players were forced to end their season prematurely due to the injuries they sustained. For the 33-year-old Classon, the 2025/2026 regular season consisted of 50 game appearances. During that time, the defenseman managed to contribute offensively with one goal and six assists, though he finished with a negative plus-minus rating of minus-five.
Gotovets, who is 34 years old, had a more limited role during the regular season, appearing in 22 contests. Unlike his departing teammate, the Russian defenseman did not register any points on the scoresheet and concluded the campaign with a minus-six plus-minus statistic.
The departures of Classon and Gotovets will create openings on the Dynamo blue line heading into the next season.
