A new initiative is taking a significant step to understand and amplify the role of women in Brazil's burgeoning beer industry. The Malte de Mulher program, created by CPLCERVA in partnership with the employers' union Simespi, launched an unprecedented survey on May 7. Its goal is to map the presence and influence of women throughout the entire beer production chain.

The survey seeks to gather comprehensive data on women's participation in a wide array of sectors within the brewing world. This includes not only hands-on production and corporate management but also areas like entrepreneurship, marketing, event organization, gastronomy, and innovation. It represents a core action of the Malte de Mulher program, which was officially launched in March in Piracicaba with the mission to boost female prominence in a market traditionally seen as male-dominated.

According to Professor Carlos Alberto Zem, the project manager for CPLCERVA and special projects advisor for Simespi, this research is a crucial phase. "More than just collecting numbers, the survey will allow us to understand who these women are, where they are working, and what challenges they still face within the beer chain," Zem stated. "Our objective is to create connections, expand opportunities, and strengthen female presence at all levels of the sector."

The Malte de Mulher program was conceived as a permanent initiative focused on valuing, strengthening, and increasing the visibility of women in the brewing industry. Its creation stems from the recognition that, despite growing female participation, significant barriers related to representation and access to strategic positions still exist. Zem emphasizes that the program is not an isolated action but a structural movement designed to stimulate diversity, innovation, and economic development through the valorization of female leadership.

The research is expected to help build a broader diagnosis of the female presence in the Brazilian brewing segment. This diagnostic will directly inform the development of future projects centered on professional training, networking, entrepreneurship, and career advancement. "The transformation of the industry necessarily passes through diversity," Zem added. "More inclusive environments generate innovation, strengthen relationships, and broaden perspectives within the market."

Beyond the survey, the Malte de Mulher program plans to host periodic meetings for experience sharing, discussions on female leadership, sensory experiences related to beer culture, and the creation of support networks among women in the field. The survey is open until May 31 and is available for any woman who works in or has a connection to the beer universe. All responses are anonymous and will be analyzed in aggregate.
